2011 Steel wool 72" x 38" x 5" A continuous one piece ribbon of steel wool is carefully hung onto pieces of household pipe and takes the shape of a woman’s coat. Inspired by a memory of a coat worn by the Artist's mother, this piece transforms a material, typically used in the kitchen for cleaning, into a three- dimensional representation of an identity carried by women over many generations.
